Untuk lebih mengerti networking anda harus faham sebelumnya mengenai networking rules (aturan2). a.l :
1. Client windows, linux, mac os atau lainnya bisa saling terkoneksi di jaringan bila memakai protocol TCP/IP. Protocol ini yang anda pakai.
2. Tidak perlu samba jika ingin konek ke internet melalui komputer gateway berOS windows (saya asumsikan gateway anda adalah windows).
3. Semua client linux anda harus berada dalam satu network dengan gateway server, bila tidak harus ditengahi oleh sebuah router. Misalnya IP lokal (LAN) gateway anda adalah 10.100.110.1, maka itulah nomor IP yang dipakai untuk settingan gateway pada semua client. Contoh:

network 10.100.110.0
broadcast 10.100.110.255
gateway 10.100.110.1
dns-nameservers 202.155.0.10


Catatan: Jangan menyalah artikan ip gateway didalam Gateway Server anda sebagai IP gateway yang dipakai untuk semua client.
